I am far from being alone in never having seen a hare. “Raising Hare” is beautifully illustrated by Denise Nestor, with sketches of hares at various stages of life and in poses from sleeping to leaping which enrich Dalton’s vivid prose to truly bring the hare to life for readers like myself, who will probably never see one in it’s natural environment.
